Where we Speak Politely and Listen Respectfully
Whoever coined the term March Madness was either a genius or just plain crazy…that is about the only word that suits this past two weeks of North Carolina weather.  We have run the gamut of all four seasons in a few short days…sun, snow, rain, cold winds, frost…the kitchen sink of weather events.  And because it is March, good luck to all whose favorite team was invited to the Dance, and hoping next year is better for any teams that are not in attendance.

The Board has approved the purchase of a new heater for the pool, and we are hopeful all inspections will be completed in time for our opening day.  The original heater had many repairs over the years, and it was time for a new one to keep our early morning and dusk swimmers comfortable.  We hope many of our residents will enjoy the pool this coming season.

The Board and York Properties are working with realtors and sellers of units to ensure our neighborhood is safe during the transition period of leaving units empty prior to the new owners moving in. We have had a few units that left all window coverings open and no lights on during this time, and we remind all residents to be vigilant should changes be noticed.  Even if you are not moving, but plan to be away for any length of time, please keep blinds, curtains, and plantation shutters closed and consider using a timer on a few lamps.

Our gutter cleaning was very successful, and no major downspout blockages were found.  The last building phase does not have large trees yet, so those gutters were very easy to clean. The Facilities team is working very hard to keep all gutters free from debris and we applaud their efforts.

We hope to be able to gather outside in the near future for our social events such as Friday at 5.  Kathee Bailey already has sent notification of a fabulous event on April 29 so mark your calendar!!

The Triangle area has some fabulous events planned for 2023 including, but not limited to Art in Bloom and Ruth Carter exhibit at the Art Museum, Duke Garden tours, Dix Park Dreamville, Car and Carnivores Steak Grill Off March 25 in Wake Forest on Brooks Street and the Veg Fest at Joyner Park also on March 25.  The Durham Performing Arts Center also has a great lineup of events with tickets still available.

If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes to register on the York Properties web page.  You will be able to look at financials, committee reports, and most importantly, fill out work orders should your unit need any type of repair.  And of course, our Villas website has valuable information for all that is happening at the Villas.

As the daylight hours grow longer, we hope to see more of our walkers and residents outside during warm weather whether it is catching up with neighbors and friends or working in the mulch areas. Hopefully the cold nights will be over soon as our trees and plants are just beginning to bloom with beautiful colors.

If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to either the Committee chairs or to the Board.  You will be responded to in a timely manner.
